J2K is an image compression format also termed as JPEG2000. It is also the final stage of post-production process. In order to screen your Advertisement or commercial in cinema hall, you would need your file to be converted to J2K format. The process involves exporting the movie from editing timeline once the editing is done. Here it has to go through the final stage of conversion to JPEG2000. This is required so it become compatible for cinema screening.
Whether it’s an inanimate slide, ad film, commercial, documentary or a feature film, it’s the same process for all. There are only 2 ways to screen the movie in the theatre. One through satellite service like UFO format, which certainly has very high broadcasting costs involved and hence not a feasible option. Two, the J2K DCP format, which is cost-effective and the best options for small movie makers and businesses in the industry.
